Dan is a lifelong New Yorker and a proud graduate of Homer High School and SUNY Cortland, where he earned a degree in economics. Early in his career, he worked at his family’s business, Valley View Gardens, where he developed a strong appreciation for hard work, responsibility, and community connection.

Following college, Dan began his public service career with the Cortland County Department of Social Services, supporting families and working to ensure the safety and well-being of children. In 2005, he joined the City of Cortland Police Department, beginning a 20-year career dedicated to serving and protecting the community. During his time with the department, Dan held a variety of roles, from Field Training Officer to Sergeant, mentoring fellow officers and leading by example.

In 2021, Dan transitioned to the department’s Youth Division, where he focused on sensitive cases involving children. Known for his steady presence, dedication, and sense of humor, he became a trusted team member and a respected leader.

Dan is now excited to begin a new chapter alongside his wife, Joan, an accomplished realtor with Howard Hanna. As a husband-and-wife team working with the renowned Kelly Skeval Team at Howard Hanna, they combine their strengths to offer clients a personalized, professional experience rooted in trust, communication, and service.

Outside of work, Dan loves spending time with his family and cheering on his two teenage sons at their sporting events.
